Take it Over

So I was totally off. I said hundreds, if not a thousand or more...and although the news outlets are reporting over two thousand...my husband was there, and he estimated about 15,000 cops were at the funeral yesterday.
They took over the town.
As they should.
The show of solidarity is not only important for the widow, the children, the family of the fallen Officer...but it's important to us, the LEO Community...so that we might have a moment to reflect, to give thanks, to pray...to cry, and grieve a little ourselves.
It should also send a message to the murderer who needs to be held accountable. To the City and the world at large: we will not accept this happening to our Officers. If you decide to harm one of us, you harm us all. And at the NYPD, we come in one size: HUGE.
We are a force to be reckoned with.
