Symbolism

When Roc walked into the house the night after he had hoisted himself over the wall, he called out to the puppy with sheer glee. The smell of victory was in the air as we got ready to dump the wristband that marked Rocco's inability to get over the wall.
Were we going to go out and have a late-night Friday dinner to celebrate? I thought so too. But this was better.
After giving me a big hug and puppy girl a long-awaited rub, he ceremoniously ripped the wristband off and threw it across the room.
"Go Get It!" He exhorted her. He pointed to the wristband and she took off like a bat out of hell. She pounced on it, jammed it between her paws, and proceeded to rip it to shreds.
Smiles all around.
