The City That Never Sleeps...

...has been buried under more than a foot of snow!
As I sit inside our home, having a nice hot cup of tea, Roc is still out there, battling the elements. He went in last night to work a regular 4-12 shift, then got a call from a guy on midnights looking for a trade. It worked out great for both of them, as Roc was stuck in the Bronx and the other guy couldn't get in from where he lives.

Except it's 12:30 in the afternoon and Roc is still not home.
The Midnight shift ends at 8am. Apparently, they held over Midnights because the weather is so bad...and then he still has to dig his car out to make the long trek home.

I'm expecting him sometime this evening: tired, wet, cold, and cranky.
Ah, the glory of being part of the world-famous NYPD!

He finally got home at 4pm---that afternoon.
AND there are still people digging out!

  3. My man was stuck in the Bronx too! They wouldn't let him leave either. He is finally back to his regular schedule. I hope you're not getting cabin fever with all of this snow we have!

  4. Roc got home four hours late again last night...he says they're still holding him over...either that or he has another wife stashed in another borough...!
