Faves

I have a few faves this time of year, and A Charlie Brown Christmas is definitely one of them. I have it on VHS, then DVD, and now it's managed to find a permanent spot on my DVR.

My favorite religious Christmas song is "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
My favorite secular Christmas song is...drumroll please...Charlie Brown Christmas, and Mariah Carey's brand new arrangement of this is particularly good.

So: spill it. Faves. Least faves? Art is so subjective...I love hearing different people's opinions about this...the other day, someone in one of my classes told me her absolute most favorite Christmas song is my Most Hated.

Gotta love it!

My favorite songs are O Holy Night, especially by Celine Dion, New York Merry Christmas by Rob Thomas, and Midnight in Sarejevo by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Movies- The Grinch, original and with Jim Carrey, Christmas Vacation, and White Christmas.

Wishing you and Roc peace and love this Christmas season.

  3. My fav song is the little drummer boy. No particular reason I just always loved the sound and humility it rang out. My fave movie is a toss up between "It's a Wonderful Life" and A Christmas Story" - you'll shoot your eye out. LOL
    Merry Christmas bloggy friend.
Oh and PS pop over my blog to see pics of our recent celebrations.
    Best!

  4. Bring it on, people! I love how someone's "Love" is someone else's "UGH!"

A note about A New York Christmas by Rob Thomas: Even though the song came out in Dec 2003, if you ask any NYer, they will tell you that song came out right after 9/11. It was still so raw then---and even now---if I am going into the city and I hear that song...or thinking about the city...or in the city...I still tear up, no matter what. It spoke to so much and still does. It's absolutely a fave.

  5. Anything by Johnny Mathis makes me lunge for the "next" button - make it stop, please, make it stop.

    Also: Mannheim Steamroller. Why.
