Traipsing through Grand Central Terminal last night, I came across a couple of cops that I decided to introduce myself to and tell them about my blog. In the middle of our conversation, my eyes zeroed in on their shields: they were NYC MTA, and they had a prominent black band around their shields, in honor of their fallen comrades.
It's just...yuck. I hate seeing it.
I love the respect and hate the reason.
It's that simple.
