Enough Already

Here's a newsflash for the protesters that are in Downtown NYC:

The NYPD is also a UNION OPERATION.

That Said...

Several local unions pledged support to the movement earlier this week.

"It's really simple. These young people on Wall Street are giving voice to many of the problems that working people in America have been confronting over the last several years," said Larry Hanley, international president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, which has 20,000 members in the New York area.

Get it? The Union Protesters that are out there: You are hassling other UNION WORKERS! In essence...you are hypocrites, and actually quite ineffective.

In fact, I don't know of any Division of Law Enforcement that does not have a UNION in America. So cut the crap. Enough Already.

  1. Huh? What union protesters? The people protesting on Wall Street aren't protesting unions. The unions have just decided to jump on board because they think they can co-opt a movement and make it theirs. Much like the Republican party did with the tea party.

Nevertheless, many (probably most) of the protesters are protesting government bailouts of big business and how the wealth does NOT trickle down... not even close. The only "trickling" was as Wall Street pissed all over us. :(

OK... I'll put the soapbox away. Especially since you're "on the ground" as it were. Hell, we only have social media to tell us what's happening, as mainstream media has decided this is not really news. You know... unlike the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor. Now THAT is news. :(

  2. Sorry---I realized that probably wasn't clear---what I meant was that the Union Protesters that are down there are harassing the police, which are fellow Union members...therefore not exactly hitting their target. If the Unions have just decided to jump on board and co-opt a movement, that is their right, BUT I find it ridiculous as they are clashing with the police, which are not their enemy. The police might represent The Establishment, but they are in fact, brothers of another mother.

  3. I totally got your point, Stella, and I'm jealous of you, Meadowlark! I live in a very pro-lying media/anti-police city. Not only are our Occupy protesters attacking the officers, but our City Hall and local media are approving and encouraging it. But that's normal, really. Unfortunately.
