Who's Reading?

The other night, I met someone new and she asked me if I had a lot of firefighter's wives who read me as well as Cop's Wives.
I paused and thought about it.
"I don't think so." I went on to tell her that I often hear from Military Wives, and I know for sure that there are a few that check in here pretty regularly.
This woman made the point that wives of cops and firefighters must share a lot of the same concerns. I agreed. I just don't know any.
In fact, I know several cops who became firefighters. They said that being a cop was a thankless job; at least when you're rescuing someone from a burning building, they tend to be appreciative. I also know a few guys who came out of the Military and joined the NYPD. Right now, Roc has a few guys from his precinct serving a final tour in Iraq or Afghanistan. They insist it's safer than the South Bronx.

  1. We had a battle at a family dinner last night about cops vs. firefighters. My papaw, dad and soon to be hubby are cops, my baby brother decided to go rogue and be a firefighter. Now he's thinking about doing the police academy the next time because he doesn't think the fire hall is the place for him to spend his life...oh Lord! I guess the grass is always greener?
