Different Shifts

Some weeks, there is just no way to see each other.
There was a lump in my bed last night, and I assume it was my husband.
The fact that I have to look at my calendar to see when the next time is that we'll have breakfast together is somehow still annoying; even after all these years.
I think I'll make pancakes.

  1. I had to quit my job outside the home and now work from home just so I can "be around" while my spouse is off duty. It's best solution I could think of or I too would be spouseless.

  2. I try so hard to align my schedule with his, but then he gets an arrest, and then he has to go to court, etc. etc...I can bore you with details, but I know you know...!

  3. So funny I would read this today...this morning as I was leaving for work, I realized that because Im working an hour later than usual today, I'll be getting home like 15 minutes after The Deputy has already left. It happens like this a few times a month...but I dont think I'll ever be able to say, "Good morning, good bye, I'll see you sometime tomorrow..." and not feel a teensy bit sad (or sorry for myself, I dont know which is worse lol)

  4. I hear ya...I've been at this a while now, and still feel really disconnected if this happens several days in a row!

  5. I do not miss this regular occurrence... I'll gladly take the day-shift even if Hubs isn't home to help get the girls ready for daycare in the mornings, or help with dinner in the evenings... at least he's home for bedtime :) and I'll take it!
