One of Our Own

I am sad to report that we have lost one of our own. NYPD Officer Dennis Guerra died yesterday after being knocked unconscious by toxic smoke this past Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn.
For those of you who have yet to hear about this travesty, I know I am particularly upset because it was such an unnecessary evil.
It was an arson fire set by a no-good punk in a Brooklyn housing project. This particular punk has actually  been quoted as saying that he set the fire because he was "bored."
Once again, this individual has a juvenile rap sheet. Once again, I would like to state that if penalties were harsher, perhaps this Cop Killer would have been put away somewhere, unable to do anyone harm.
Unfortunately, we have lost one of our own. This Officer was a husband and a father of four. By all accounts, a good friend, and a great Officer.
His partner remains in critical condition at one of our City's finest hospitals.
And the only word that comes to mind is: senseless.
Rest in Peace, Brother Guerra.
