NYE in NYC

New Year's Eve in New York City...there really is nothing else like it. People all around the globe tune in to see our world-renowned #NYC Ball Drop in Times Square and revelers from all over get excited by the energy that Our City provides.
It's the one night where we certainly do not sleep!

It's also the one night that Law Enforcement Families more often than not do not get to celebrate with their loved one. Whether covering the Borough Precincts or being called in for the Times Square Ball Drop, our #NYPD Officers work long and hard to keep the City safe and make the tourists feel welcome. I can tell you first-hand that my husband has worked several Ball Drop details, in the freezing cold, for a 12-15 hour tour more years than not.
The truth is that working on New Year's Eve not only means a toast with the dog, but it generally means that New Year's Day is destroyed too as he is busy recovering (read: sleeping) from the extra-long shift.
I know you know. I mean, if you're reading this Blog, you are either in Law Enforcement, married to someone who is...or contemplating it.
You get it.
Wouldn't it be nice for New York City to have a Mayor that gets it too?
The above video is a quick take on the Holiday from Michel Faulkner, current candidate for NYC Mayor. Feel free to join the Candidate that Backs the Blue, not only on Holidays, but every day. Feel free to copy, paste, and share. Get the word out any way you can.
He's the real deal, people.

  3. @Monica: Isn't it? I'm hoping Mr. Faulkner gives the current mayor a run for his money!!
