I am not the type of woman that simply throws caution to the wind. The idea of "give it a whirl" for me applied more to something like trying a new dessert, rather than a life-changing event that could impact several lives.
But I kept picking away at the idea of having a child. I acknowledged the prejudices I held in terms of what I thought Parenthood was or should be; I kept it in prayer, until one day my husband and I decided to...give it a whirl.
I would try. That's it. That's about all I was promising myself. And we would see what happened.
