A Happy Follow-Up

Back in December 2012, I wrote a post entitled A Simple Gesture.
It was about a boy who is living with a progressive cancer, and his Christmas Wish was to receive as many Christmas Cards as he could from Police Officers. I wrote up the post, picked out a card, and my husband signed one just for him.
Last night, Hubby came home and left me a magazine open to an article that was titled: New York Teams Up For a Boy's Dream.
In May 2013, Nathan Norman was treated to a weekend in New York City compliments of the NYPD as well as many other local agencies.
The article made my heart smile; to think that our Guys and Gals in Blue got together to help this child fulfill his dream is what the Law Enforcement Life is truly all about; we are a family unit, unspoken and sure, that is willing to do right in the face of evil. Because, let's face it: cancer's a perp too!
