Gateway Drug

Yesterday, a Police Officer was shot in New Jersey. Since New York and New Jersey are inexorably linked, I am always moved by an Officer being shot in my next-door state, as I am anywhere in the world.
But here's what jumped out at me regarding this particular incident: this was an undercover who was shot in a drug deal gone bad. A drug buy for $400 worth of marijuana.
Yes, the harmless herb that several states have already legalized...you know the one. The same drug that recreational users will insist is not a gateway drug...that same drug caused a suspect scumbag to shoot a nine-year veteran of the Paramus Police Department.
He is now in custody, along with two others.

The Officer is currently hospitalized and his condition is said to be stable. I would encourage to pray for him, his family, and our LEO family everywhere.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a "routine" day when you're a Police Officer...but we already knew that, didn't we?

  2. MMM: I hate hearing that...another "harmless" drug---unless of course, you use it to hurt others.
    Sending prayers and love!
